Pope Benedict XVI

 

On December 31st. Pope Benedict XVI passed away. He is probably the most undervalued and misunderstood pontiff of recent times. His homilies were always a source of deep meaning and profound teaching, not of clichés and platitudes. A man of profound faith, but at the same time a theologian and profound thinker, Benedict XVI was the perfect symbiosis of  faith and reason. If one should ever be tempted to disagree with anything he said, one would have to study hard to be able to counter his arguments so firmly rooted in knowledge. For us he was a source of light and strength, and he has been sorely missed ever since heis abdication from the position of pontiff. More so now ... His numerous books and papers may help to fill that void.
