The Grace of God

The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better

Moonbow

The New Year began with a spectacular sighting - a moonbow rising out of the sea before daybreak with an almost full moon in the western sky.

Moonbows are rare because moonlight is not very strong. A bright moon near to full is needed; it must be raining opposite the moon; the sky must be dark and the moon must be less than 42Âș high. If we put all these conditions together, it is no surprise that moonbows or lunar rainbows are not such a common occurrence. They are also known as white rainbows because normally their light is not bright enough to activate the cone colour receptors in our eyes.

Let's hope that this unusual sighting is a sign of what the New Year has in store!

Lunar rainbow

This morning while walking on the beach before dawn we saw a lunar rainbow. The shape is the same as a normal rainbow but instead of the seven colours it is a pale arc of tones of grey. Quite extraordinary. I might not have known what it was but a few weeks ago on the Italian programme "L'ereditĂ " they talked about this phenomenon. Quite a spectacular way to start a new year!
